The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences has a long standing reputation for the quality of its teaching and research, with a warm and supportive environment in which to learn. It provides foundation, undergraduate, post-qualifying, postgraduate and research study opportunities across five departments in a wide range of subject areas including biological and medical sciences, environmental sciences, health and social care, psychology, sport, exercise and nutrition. The Faculty consists of five departments:

- Department of Sport, Health Sciences and Social Work
Our teaching is focused on encouraging each individual to attain their full potential as well as providing you with the knowledge and confidence to care for people in a complex and global health and social environment.
In the most recent government assessment of teaching quality we were rated "Excellent", the highest grade possible, and our Nursing and Midwifery courses were rated "Outstanding" for the quality of our practice education.
